I Want to Write a Book Like Right Now

OHHHH my HOLY

Okay. The title explains it, but I have just had the blooming idea for a book and I CAN’T, oh god, I have ideas for TWO books! YES!

Phew. Calm down.

I’ve been thinking about this book for a while, and I’ve not got the plot fleshed out, but the motivation to write it came just now when I wanted to find some good LGBTQ young adult books. I’m in the mood for having a light read, because I just read some dystopia and then an AMAZING Sci-fi book called Qualify. Even though that was so amazing, I needed something to tide me over – maybe even a new series. I posted on my twitter, asking if anyone had any recommendations, and then I said:

“Or should I write my own?”

And BANG. The ideas formed. Not the characters, not the idea FOR the book – because I’ve got that figured out – but how I’m going to write it. What will the characters be like? Their voices, their personalities, how they tick? Chapters with names or numbers? Past or present tense? Love triangle or no love triangle? (Figured that one out already HAHA).

I need to write it. But how? HOW do I put this all together?

And, most importantly, would you like to read it?

I’m a teenager, wanting to write a book. What am I doing?! Ah, well; let’s see how it goes.

  1. Figure it out this month – next month is NaNoWriMo! But this month is PlotAMonth – where all the details are sorted out before you begin writing (you could even do a summary before you begin if that’s your style). Now is a really good time for inspiration to strike, so make it count!

  2. That’s great! I love to write and I’ve filled up dozens of books with novels no-one will ever want to read!! I’m so excited to read your book!!! Bet it will be brilliant!

  3. I would personally love to read a book by you because I really like your perssonality and I had have some thoughts of starting a short story many times but like you I have a thousand ideas but I don’t know how to word it and make it have personality . But I’ll love to read about a character based on you πŸ™‚ Start that book tight now πŸ™‚

  4. Just relax!!! Breathe!! Now you just start typing. You have an idea, just do it. Later ,about a week later, go and reread it. Correct, change and edit it. Writing takes time, but I believe your book is going to be amazing :3

  5. I used to write short novels when I was younger but I haven’t in a while! I’d love to read your book, nd maybe be inspired to start writing again!

  6. DO IT ELM! I know you can, and I’d love love love to read it or hear some ideas! πŸ™‚ And it’s great to also be supportive of LGBTQ rights while you’re at it! Go for it, good luck πŸ™‚

  7. I know how you feel, I always feel like this! Especially after you finish a good book. Especially when you know that book would have been 10x better with lgbtqa characters in it…
If you want any recommendations of YA books featuring queer female characters let me know! (cause i feel like i’ve read all of them that exist. cause there’s very few.)

  8. Literally plan it first because when you start writing without any idea as to where everything is going is the worst thing ever. More often then not you just sit and stare at the screen and wonder what to say. That’s my advice

  9. ELM WRITE IT AND I WILL DEFINITELY READ IT. I say get a notebook (I personally prefer to plan on physical paper) and start plotting! Or open up a document and just start writing! It all depends on what you prefer πŸ™‚

  10. I really think you should write a book – a love your style of writing and writing a book is the most frustrating but fulfilling experience – and I should know because I’m on my second πŸ™‚
